 All-day Kindergarten is coming to four schools in Georgetown, Ontario in September 2012 - 2013. More schools will follow as The Ministry of Education announced they will fund $13 million for school additions and renovations. The schools that start the program in 2012 - 2013 are: Harrison Public Shool, Joseph Gibbons Public School, Park Public School, Silvercreek Public School. Open article for school contact info.

French Immersion programs are for students from non-French families and no previous French language experience is necessary. At French Immersion program students spend 50% of their day focusing on French Language Arts and other curriculum areas (e.g., Social Science) in French. The remaining 50% is taken in English.
The mandatory 40 minute daily program of Core French start at all schools in Grade 4.

 Ethel Gardiner Public School in Georgetown South is finally, or rather already, open. The 450 students moved from portables at Silver Creek and Harrison schools to the first environmentally-friendly school in Halton. The school was build to silver level LEED standards which is a set of standards for environmentally sustainable construction (the library addition will be build up to these standards as well).
