 Shopping for unique ladies fashions is not a dreadful experience, thanks to Val Leachman of The Way We Were. She opened her cozy boutique on August 1st 2009 and within a few weeks it become one of the main attractions of Downtown Georgetown Ontario. Shopping is not fun for me anymore as there is no selection but uniformity. Buy a blouse from (ok, I’m not going to trash any brand) you name it and you know at least three women on your street will have it. Not to mention the same old colors and styles that have been around for years. Little blouses with puffy sleeves and black pants? C’mon, that has been around for the longest time Ok, let’s say you finally find something, you put it on and, of course, it looks awful. It is not sewn properly, your stomach looks big, your butt looks even bigger, and your boobs have disappeared even though you are wearing a wonderbra. After couple hours you give up and go home, exhausted only to find that the kids have completely trashed the house, but luckily, did not wake up their dad. Who the hell ever said shopping was fun? Then I get really mad when browsing the magazines while waiting at the cashier. All the celebrities are wearing these cool clothes and high heels, which are definitely designed for sitting only. They all have the perfect makeup, flawless skin, shiny hair, seemingly effortless hair style…don’t you hate them? And, then there are the models. Seriously, how do fashion designers make a living? Half of that stuff is unwearable in public! AND, no matter how skinny you are you will never be skinny enough to pull off that stuff. So, if you are like me, desperately searching for that unique style, drop by the Main Street in Downtown Georgetown. Valerie has opened a new ladies consignment boutique – The Way We Were - that carries high-end ladies clothing in great condition for great prices. And don’t be surprised to find a Valentino there.
