Now, the Region of Halton Hills has stepped up and approved $60,000 for 2009 and $75,000 for 2010 for Links2Care, organization running the youth centres. The funds will come from a newly established Community Investment Fund.

Youth 17 years or less can qualify for a free urgent dental in Halton, or across Ontario. Call 311, or 905-825-6000 to make an appointment with the Dental Case Worker. The Worker will tell you where is the closest clinic to you. You may go to your dentist, however, check if he/she participates in the Children in Need of Treatment (CINOT) program.

 Off The Wall (Acton) and Open Door (Georgetown) youth centers are run by Links2Care and offer young adults a safe place to "hang around". Professional counsellor that both young people and their parents can talk to is stays at the centre. In a small town like Georgetown or Acton, where there is not much for teenagers to do, youth centers play an important role in guiding young people the right direction and helping them get back on the right track if they slip.
