A Special Message fromFoundation Chair, Laurent Thibault As you may have read in the Independent & Free Press, Georgetown Hospital made a presentation to Halton Hills Town Council last week to request financial support for our plans for the addition of a CT Scanner and expansion and renovation to the Diagnostic Imaging and Emergency Departments at Georgetown Hospital. You can read the Newspaper's story on line here. John Oliver, CEO and Cindy McDonell, COO were joined by Dr. Jeff Sutherland, Dr. Wei Chu and Dr. Justin Busse to address Council. If you would like to review the proposed expansion and redevelopment plans in greater detail, a copy of the presentation outlining the project has been posted on the Town's web site here. Town staff are now exploring options for the financing of the request and will present those options at the next Council meeting on Monday, January 24, 2011 at Halton Hills Town Hall starting at 6:30 pm. At the beginning of that meeting, interested citizens will have an opportunity to present any comments or concerns to Council. We hope to have as many people as possible at this meeting to show Council that there is very strong community support for this request and help make it easy for Council to agree to the request for funding. Please consider lending your voice of support in one or more of the following ways:
In addition to showing your own support, I am urging you to forward this e-mail to your friends and neighbours who also have an interest in ensuring Georgetown Hospital is able to provide the best possible healthcare for our community. More information regarding this meeting is also available from an ad placed by the Town in Tuesday's edition of The Independent & Free Press. The people of Georgetown and the surrounding area came together 50 years ago to build a terrific primary care hospital that has served the community exceptionally well over the years. Now it is our generation's turn to step forward and lend a helping hand to make sure Georgetown Hospital continues to meet the healthcare needs of our community today and in years to come. Sincerely, Laurent Thibault
