Earthquake in Georgetown Ontario PDF Print E-mail

georgetown, ontarioWednesday's earthquake in Georgetown may as well be the biggest highlight of the dry summer season. Just reading about it feels good - I know I'm not going nuts! It all happened at about 1:41, 60 km north of Ottawa,18km underground and really scared the organizers of the expensive G8 summit.  At first, the poor guys thought it was car bomb. Their second thought was (at least that's what I think) " I'm gonna get fired for this!" All the money that went into security.... Anyhow, the shaking lasted for about 30 seconds and was felt in Quebec, New York, Vermont, Michigan and Illinois, and had a magnitude of 5.0 on the Richter scale.
Oh, I miss all the excitement around the water coolers....

For more info Google "earthquake in Quebec and Ontario" (haha).
